Scott Nailen
Scott joined the VWC coaching staff in the Fall of 2011 when he and his family relocated to Vestavia from Germantown, TN. He brings a 20 plus year coaching tenure to the VWC staff. Prior to joining VWC, Scott spent the previous 8 years as the head coach for the Houston Youth Wrestling Club and in 2012 was inducted into the Houston Wrestling Hall of Fame for his commitment and contribution to the Houston High School Wrestling Program... Scott wrestled at Kirby High School in Tennessee where he was his school's first Wrestling State Champion. Early on Scott recognized the importance of good coaching and credits his success and the love he has for the sport to his high school coaches Frank Simpson (now at Montgomery Bell Academy) and Walt Holmes (now at Houston High School) - both of whom are now National High School Wrestling Hall of Fame inductees... Scott and his wife (Meg) have two daughters (Maggy and Libby) and two sons (Nate and Will). Scott's other interests include his church, wakeboarding and spending time with his family.
